Modem Connection Problems
A modem is a piece of equipment used to connect a computer to the internet. Modems convert data from the internet into signals that computers understand. A modem usually connects directly to the wall outlet via phone line. It converts the analog signal from the telephone company into a digital format that computers can understand. Most modems are built into the back of a computer or laptop.
You Have an Out-of-Date Wi-Fi Router
Wi-Fi routers are devices that allow wireless networks to operate within a certain area. These routers provide Internet access to users who connect to the network using wireless devices such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other mobile computing devices. There are two types of routers: wired and wireless. Wired routers connect to the Internet using Ethernet cables. Wireless routers connect to the Internet wirelessly. Wireless routers are easier to set up because they don’t require physical connections between the router and the Internet. However, wireless routers aren’t always reliable. That’s why many people choose to buy a wired router instead. If you’re having problems connecting to the Internet, check your router’s manual to see if it lists any known issues.
Your Cables are Faulty

Phone cable:
If the phone line is not working, check if the power supply is connected to the wall socket. Check if the power supply is turned off. If the power supply is turned on but no light comes on, check if the fuse is blown. If the fuse is not blown, replace the fuse. Data cable: Answer: To test the data cable, plug the computer into a different port on the router. If the connection does not work, check if the power cord is plugged into the wall socket. If the power cord is plugged in but the computer still cannot connect to the network, check if the modem/router is powered on. If the modem/router powers on but the computer cannot connect to the internet, replace the modem/router. Network cable: Answer: If the network cable is not working, check the wiring. Coaxial cable:

To test the wireless router, plug the computer into a different location. If the connection works fine, the problem is not related to the wireless router.
Internet Troubleshooting
Internet troubleshooting is very important because if you are unable to access the internet, you cannot perform any online transactions. It is very important to know how to troubleshoot the internet connection. Here are some steps to follow to troubleshoot the connection. 1 Check the modem/router configuration. Make sure that the modem/router is connected to the correct port on the wall socket. Also check if the power supply is working properly. 2 Check the DSL/Cable Modem. If the modem is not functioning correctly, try connecting the modem directly to the computer instead of the router.
Diagnosis
To diagnose the problem, we recommend using a tool called “Speedtest.net”. This tool allows us to test our internet speed. To download the Speedtest.net app, click here. Once downloaded, open the app and select the option ‘Test my Internet Connection’. After selecting the option, wait for the results to load. If the result explains that your internet speed is slow, then it means that there is a problem somewhere along the line. We recommend contacting your ISP internet service provider to fix the issue.

We recommend using a tool called "Speedtest.net" to check your internet connection speed. To download the "Speedtest.net", click here. Once downloaded and installed, open the app and choose the option “Test my Internet Connection”. After choosing the option, wait for results to load. Once the results are loaded, you will see the following information: • Download Speed Mbps – Shows how fast your computer/device is downloading data from the internet.
Reset Your Modem/Router
If you are having issues connecting to the internet, resetting your modem/router could help. Resetting your modem/routers usually involves removing the power supply to the unit and plugging it back in again. This will force the router to restart and re-establish connections. To reset your modem/router, follow these steps:
Hardware Issue
1 Press and hold the Power button until the light turns off. 2 Remove the AC adapter from the wall socket. 3 Plug the AC adapter into the wall outlet. 4 Wait for the light to turn on. 5 Press and release the Power button. 6 Turn the computer on. 7 Connect to the Internet using the Ethernet cable provided with the modem/router. Software Issue Answer: 1 Open the Start menu and select Control Panel. 2 Select Network and Sharing Center 3 Click Change Adapter Settings 4 Select the connection that isn’t working 5 Click Properties 6 Click Advanced 7 Check the box next to "Use the following IP address" 8 Enter the IP address assigned to the network interface card NIC 9 Click OK 10 Restart the computer 11 Reconnect to the network 12 Try accessing the network resource again
Check Cables

If another device is plugged into the same outlet, unplug the device from the wall socket and plug it back in again. This could help solve the issue. Unplug the router from the wall socket and remove the battery. Plug the new battery into the router and replace the battery. Turn the router on and see if the issue is resolved.
