When you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be calling from your bank, credit card company or utility provider, you probably know right away that something is wrong. Also, never open email messages that claim to be from a bank or other business. Instead, go directly to the website of the business you think you’re talking to. How Can I Protect Myself Online? Answer: Use caution when browsing the Internet. Be careful what you share online. Don’t provide personal information unless you initiate contact with the person asking for it. And if you receive unsolicited emails or text messages, delete them right away. What Should I Do If Someone Is Trying To Steal My Identity? Don’t Answer

If you get a call from someone who won’t leave a message, don’t answer. It could be a scammer trying to steal your identity.
